Fun Fact #2 – In the early 1700’s, Redding, CT, was home to a Pootatuck Indian village whose chief was named Chicken Warrups. In 1714 John Read claimed 500 acres to set up a homestead that soon became the center of a busy and populous farm settlement. In 1767 the Town of Redding was officially incorporated.
